and function. Wax / Resin
ribbons are made of two or more layers. Resin substances have a higher melting
point thus increasing the melting point of the ribbon. Printing with Wax /
Resin ribbons takes place at a higher heat or energy setting then wax ribbons.
As resins are harder then waxes image durability, chemical resistance and abrasion
smudge scratch resistance is more than that of wax based ribbons. The most critical quality they have to possess
is the ability to print on a broad array of label substrates from high-end
glossy paper to low-end synthetics. Fortunately, wax/resin formulations lead

RESIN RIBBONS are formulated to print onto
plastic labels such as polyester, polypropylene and vinyl. The ink is designed
to slightly dissolve into the plastic surface of the label. The tight adhesion
of the ink to the surface of the label renders the printing extremely durable.
Plastic labels with resin printing will survive outside in full sunlight, can
withstand immersion in water, are highly scratch-resistant and may be resistant

Types of Label Printers
There are many different types of label
printers.

Daisy-wheel printers use a small wheel
with a single pin for each character. The wheel is rotated to the correct pin
when marking each character on a page.

Direct thermal printers output sharp, clear
text and graphics. They use heat to set images on non-curling,
